Early example of transferware on a highly decorative lidded sugar bowl.
The design features two scalloped handles, a looped lid top and a fluted body, with an equally decorative footed base. The blue transferware design extends up the bowl and over the lid, with dainty gilt work, which has stood the test of time extremely well.
No chips to the lid inside or out or to the bowl. There is a hairline crack to the outside only of the lid, running from the handle to half way down the lid, but this is to the outside only and has not affected the integrity of the piece.
Please see picture five for this detail. The expected scuffing can be seen to the feet, but of course this cannot be seen and we regard these signs of use as part of the beautiful history of many of our items!
Measures approx. 18cm h x 19w from handle to handle
